Company is seeking a highly organized and detail-driven Manufacturing Planner to support our aerospace operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing planning within the aerospace or defense industries, with a solid understanding of material planning, lead times, capacity management, and schedule coordination. This role plays a critical part in ensuring on-time delivery, cost efficiency, and adherence to customer, industry, and safety standards.

Position Overview

As a Manufacturing Planner within the Supply Chain department, you will interpret customer requirements using technical data such as drawings, CAD models, bills of materials, quality clauses, and purchase orders. You will develop and maintain detailed production plans that guide the manufacturing of aerospace components and assemblies. This role requires close collaboration with engineering, procurement, quality, and production teams to align manufacturing schedules with project timelines, resource availability, and customer expectations.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Review and verify customer requirements from POs, terms and conditions, engineering drawings, models, parts lists, and quality clauses.
  • Build, update, and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) within the MRP system.
  • Create and manage master production schedules to meet customer delivery dates and forecast demands.
  • Plan the sequence of manufacturing operations-including machining, outside processing, testing, inspections, assembly, and quality processes-and translate them into work instructions.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to ensure products meet customer specifications, standards, and contractual requirements.
  • Release manufacturing routers on time and in alignment with demand.
  • Process router revisions, corrections, and updates as needed.
  • Assist with job splits, rework planning, and resolving issues involving CARs/NCRs.
  • Maintain data accuracy for parts transferred across facilities.
  • Analyze production data to identify risks, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities; implement best practices to enhance efficiency and reduce lead times.
  • Create material identification for purchase orders and link materials to appropriate jobs.
  • Provide planning data to support estimating and quoting efforts (cycle times, material costs, resource requirements).
  • Support make-versus-buy decisions based on demand, capabilities, and resource availability.
  • Utilize Exostar to assist with OEM customer requirements (e.g., Boeing, Lockheed).

Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with CAD/CAM systems (Mastercam) and/or machining processes including CNC mills, lathes, VTLs, or boring mills is a plus.
  • Strong blueprint reading skills; proficiency in CATIA/Enovia.
  • Background in aerospace production planning or estimating.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing planning (CNC machine shop environment preferred).
  • Experience with Nadcap special processes and related approvals.
  • Familiarity with Boeing D1-4426 process requirements.
  • Knowledge of PFMEA, PPAP, and PCP processes.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and related applications.
